Through Some Locks

I went through my first lock last night. The weirdest part of the whole thing was the thousands of seagulls that were lined up alone the walls just before entering the lock. When the boat would get near they would fly away further down along the wall. But this process kept repeating itself as we moved further towards the lock. Maybe a hundred or so actually ended up landing in the water.

The lock itself took maybe 15 minutes to get through and about half of the cruise came out to the front decks to watch the process. There was something neat about it but I still can't put for finger one.

The second lock that I saw was this morning. I enjoyed the view of the wall from the inside of my state room. It made it seem more like a cave with the dark, wet, almost stone looking wall.

Well I'm off to do a bus tour of Vienna.
